的天体上。这家伙质量大约是木星的12.7倍，通常被归类为“超级木星”，但它自转一圈只要2.4个小时，快得惊人。作为对比，我们太阳系里的木星自转一周也得将近10个小时。<br/><br/>研究团队调用了詹姆斯·韦布空间望远镜（JWST）的观测档案。他们分析了这颗超级木星从它的宿主恒星前面经过时留下的凌星数据。当行星遮挡一部分星光时，望远镜会记录下一串细微的光变曲线。研究人员想从这些曲线里翻出一份“不在场证明”：有没有一个火山肆虐的系外卫星，正在偷偷地往这颗超级木星的极光里“加料”？<br/><br/>这个思路跟木星和木卫一的关系如出一辙。木卫一的火山喷出物被木星磁场捕获后，会强烈激发极光。如果 SIMP 0136+0933 也有极光，并且这极光显出被额外物质“喂养”的痕迹，那幕后推手很可能就是一颗我们还没看到的火山卫星，或者说，一颗“系外木卫一”。<br/><br/>初步分析的结果给了科学家一些乐观的理由。在现有数据条件下，他们估算出探测到一颗类似木卫一的卫星的成功率大约是66%，而想找到一颗类似木卫三这种更大块头的卫星，成功率可以达到93%。但先别急着开香槟。研究团队在论文的结论部分非常清醒地指出了一个关键事实：目前这些档案数据的时间长度，还不足以让他们给出一个确凿无疑的判断。他们需要的是更长的观测窗口。<br/><br/>研究人员明确写道，要想得出有意义的统计结论，真正搞清楚像木卫一这样的火山卫星在超级木星周围是不是普遍存在，大概需要用韦布望远镜对大约4到12颗已知存在活跃极光的超级木星，每颗进行持续大约1.5天的连续观测。<br/><br/>换句话说，当下的这场“侦察”更像是证明了这种思路的可行性，而不是已经抓到了那颗卫星本身。科学家手里握着的是一张分辨率还有点低的宝藏地图，他们知道宝藏大概埋在哪里，也已经验证了寻宝工具的灵敏度，但最后那决定性的一铲子，还得等未来更充分的观测时间。<br/><br/>关于 SIMP 0136+0933
