Contracting Vehicles for Governmental Organizations

Most governmental organizations contract with private firms, but the cost in time and paperwork can be high. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has lessened many of these problems by entering into a contract with several private-sector firms. This contract focuses on geospatial services and data and is available to other governmental organizations (federal, state, and local).

Requirements for using the contract include the following:

All work must be done to facilitate the management and protection of coastal communities and natural resources.

Participants must be governmental organizations.

A memorandum of understanding with the NOAA Office for Coastal Management must be in place before the contracting vehicle is used.

Using this contract means less paperwork and access to the top companies providing geospatial services. Project scoping assistance is also provided.
