State Impacts








This tool sorts and displays impacts by state from the Drought Impact Reporter from 2000 through November 20, 2025. Daily DIR data collection began in 2005 but some historic impacts are included.

You can filter impacts by U.S. Drought Monitor status, season, weeks in drought, industry and date range. This may provide insight on what to expect when a state is experiencing a certain level of drought. To find more detail on an individual impact, such as spatial extent, go to the Drought Impact Reporter and use the Impact Id Number filter. Detail on data assembly and filtering is here.

Regional drought impact tables for Southeast Alaska (temperate rainforest), South Central Alaska (cool, moist Mediterranean) and Interior Alaska (arctic) are being developed through a separate process based on a series of workshops and expert consultation. The Southeast region is the first to be completed. Impacts below correspond to the USDM status selected above.
