I built a small site called https://fareclaim.app to help catch default transit overcharges.

This whole thing started back in February when fuel prices spiked. I noticed pretty quickly that the transit system has a catch. If a card reader glitches out or you just forget to tap off, you get hit with a default fare.

Trying to track down those charges is awful. You have to log into your account and manually check every single trip in your travel history. Most people do not bother and just let the transit authority keep the money. I got tired of doing it myself, so I built a tool to automate the check.

You just drop your exported travel history file into the site. It scans your trips locally in your browser so your data stays completely private. It spots any failed touch ons or touch offs in seconds and gives you the exact details you need to fill out a fare adjustment form.

The app now supports Go Card, Opal, and myki. Since I do not live down south, I need people to give the Sydney and Melbourne versions a try and let me know how it runs.

I would love to get some feedback from the Whirlpool crowd. Good or bad. If you run your history through it and find any weird charge scenarios that the app misses, let me know. The tool is entirely free and I want to keep improving it based on what people actually need.
