O.P.

I created a new site for a bit of fun showing some 'what if's' in relation to investing in shares or crypto. The site has been live for 2 weeks but a total of 9 pages have been indexed.

I have run through various SEO utils, added site maps and key pages to google search console but literally nothing has happened in over a week – just a few pages in the first week. Just wondering if I am missing something or if this is normal for a new site?

Lots of factors determine how fast or well Google ranks your site. You've got pretty decent Lighthouse scores, all you can do is wait and try building credibility. Get some people linking to your site, talking about it on socials and so on. Google probably sees it as low to medium quality right now. I also am starting to suspect that Google are paying attention to AI generated apps like these, the serif font and ink/paper look with the creams and off whites is a bit of an AI design tell and I wonder if Google factors that in too now.

One thing I've found that works well is fresh high quality content. So adding in a tasteful blog where you write about what the site is about usually helps. For my sites, I actually have a blog I've been running since 2010 that has high SEO juice and I tastefully write about some of the things I build and link them which gives them quite a big boost.
