Anderson）介绍，地球生命起源于35亿多年前。其中，蓝细菌和产氧光合作用至少在23亿年前就已经存在，真核生物则不晚于17亿年前出现。此后，藻类于至少10亿年前现身，而动物则在至少5.7亿年前开始萌芽。安德森强调，若要追溯植物和动物的共同祖先，研究人员必须将目光投向大约16亿年前的“冠群真核生物”（crown
