What size systems in which orientations do you have to get that kind of efficiency?

I have 6.615kW of Neons (10N/11W) and the best I have got is on the 05/12 at 6.927kWh, my system pretty much clips solidly between 10am and 3pm

Has anyone had any dealings with A Woman's Spark recently?

I've found them to be largely uncontactable.

- Requested a quote via their Facebook promotion. Never heard back.
- They haven't answered emails.
- Today they haven't answered the phone. I'm placed in a call queue.

Are they still kicking around?

My system getting over 7Kwh/kw for the past 3 days. Today it was so clouldy in the morning don't if my system can get over 7Kwh/kw.

I got 7.034kWh/kW on the 4-12, with 42.1kWh produced that day, 19x 315 Neons facing north but have shading in the afternoon

Suppose it makes sense that you would get better efficiency with E/W panels as more sun is hitting them for longer this time of year, will be interesting to see how different that is in Winter with East panels dropping off

Still on sunny days I'm producing 45/46kWh a day so gotta be happy with that :)

You're in the honeymoon phase. You got Neons right? Much lower initial degradation than others.

Hello All,
Finally got my install completed on Monday. Got 20 x 320W Neon2 panels arranged in 8 East and 12 West with a Fronius Symo 5.0-3.

Yesterday the system made 46kWh, not bad! Like others here the inverter started clipping at about 10am and didn't stop until 2.30pm.

Also got the Fronius smart meter, just sorting out the PVOutput data now.

Almost the same setup installed here yesterday.

20x LG Neon 2's (320W) in 12 west and 8 north, Fronius Symo 5.0-3 with smartmeter.

Very happy with the install. Professional job.

Only issue is with the gaps in data being pushed to PVoutput. I noticed ianhutch1 has the same issue.. I might have to set up a script on a rasp-pi as that is meant to not have the same issues.

It will be nice to have a clear day so we can compare systems, the 6.615 vs the 6.4 of mine.

I sit at 5kw from 11 – 3:45 and my best efficiency was 6.802 on Monday. I don't think above 7 is possible with mine.

Hey didnt really get a lot of info back on last post. Wondering if anyone has used or knows of Perth Solar Force?

Have had a very competative quote on fronius inverter jinko/et panels. Just wanted to see if anyone has used them and their experience.

ET and Jinko are very run of the mill panels, hence the very "competitive" quote. Beware the amount of garbage in the market currently and the companies pushing it.

I've set up the Fronius push service to PVOutput but I can't seem to get the meter to correctly report import vs. export... it all just appears as 'consumed' figures. Have you had similar issues?

I've tried the &n=1 setting on the 'CurrentData – Meter' file name so will see if that fixes it. Else I may have to have a look at the php script as you suggest.

I followed the instructions in this post --> whrl.pl/ReDti4

Looks like I may have found a solution to my missing data problem in pvoutput, but only made the change last night so will monitor.
I changed the push interval in both from 5 min, to 1 min.
The idea was that sometimes the timing would miss and an entry would be dropped.
You don't normally see if the data is missing, until you do a compare with another installation and then you have gaps. Just viewing your own pvoutput just fills in the missing location with a joining line between the recieved data.

Just had my Solar system fixed after an inverter problem – no power generation for several months which I only noticed after getting a bill. Yes, believe it or not, the novelty of checking the power generation figures every day does wear off after a few years :-)

My original installer – a top recommendation on this forum at the time – has long since ceased trading, leaving me to find someone else to help diagnose and fix it.

I must admit I was expecting difficulty finding someone to help sort this out. Troubleshooting a failed install is no doubt one of those jobs that installers put off, especially if it's not one of yours. A big thanks to Klaus from Solar Earth Solutions who not only came to my aid but went out of his way to help. It's nice to see that good service and high standards still exist in this day and age.

I believe I've met the owner, Jason, about 5 years ago when they were trading under a different name.... they didn't strike me as a very professional outfit and I didn't take the sales job they were looking to fill. The web site is for the most part still under construction and doesn't actually tell you anything about the company or people..... but the facebook page looks OK. They are a big question mark, who knows. I have some pessimism about their long-term ability to service your installation.

Big thanks to the 3 guys who installed my system yesterday.

Turned up at 6:45am (early.. we had arranged 7am).

Removed the old SMA Sunnyboy and 6 panels from the roof.

Took a 45 min break due to the rain (where the eff did that come from by the way???).

Installed the new Fronius Primo, Smart Meter and 20 panels.

Tidied up (took all the empty boxes with them!), got me to the sign all the documents and had left by 11:30am.

(plus my 3 year old son has never sat so still for so long watching them, so added bonus there)

By 5:30pm I had logged about 20kWh. 1 happy camper.

In fact by (mildly obessively) watching the solarweb site, I discovered I was completely self sufficient on power by 6:45am this morning, so even happier.

Now just to get pvoutput correctly 'wired' up....

Just have workmen from Solargain on my roof installing a new PV system today.

For reference for anyone else chasing current Perth pricing I ordered my system about 7 weeks ago:

12x Jinko 270W panels (3.24kW) + Fronius 3kW inverter for $3300 all up.

Original price quoted was a couple of hundred dearer but they discounted when asked.

Also got a quote at the same time from True Value: $3150 with 260W Jinko panels and a Bosch inverter. They then offered another $150 discount via email after I had signed up with Solargain if I would go ahead but it was too late.

All other quotes received for better panels went over my budget of $4000 (e.g. Infinite Energy) and was a bit scared of going with companies promising cheaper solutions with cheaper panels & Chinese inverters but may have been able to squeeze the budget and roof space for another 4 panels if I did.

Roof faces N.E., got wife and two kids at home and myself working from a home office, intending to maximise our daytime use to minimise payback time. Typically we use up to 14~16 units per day in middle winter/summer and down to around 8~12 units in shoulder times.

What says anyone? should I expect net $0 bills for the year or is that wishful thinking? (I think we also get some kind of dependent children rebate that lowers the cost).

Zero net is really hard to do. Every night time unit you import needs to be offset by 4x day time exports. And that doesnt covert daily connection charge. Just maximise your day time use and you will be doing all you can. Turn off standby gear at night. Etc
