According to the Barth Report, the company ranks as the 10th largest beer producer globally by production volume and 5th in Europe.\n\nSince its foundation, Anadolu Efes has consistently been a pioneer in its sector. Through exports to more than 70 countries and employing approximately 3,500 people, the company serves over 750 million consumers worldwide.\n\nPlacing sustainability and digitalization at the core of its business model, Anadolu Efes focuses on creating long-term value for society. The company regards the establishment of a sustainable business model as a responsibility toward future generations.\nWithin this framework, Anadolu Efes implements projects across a broad range of areas, including sustainable agriculture, environmental protection, culture & art, entrepreneurship, and sports, aiming to support environmental, social, and cultural progress through sustainable practices.\n\n### Addressing business and operational risk\n\nBefore adopting Cloudflare, Anadolu Efes maintained high-traffic digital platforms, and was digitising its sales, logistics, and analytics platforms. They soon discovered that all of these digital services — and the employees and customers using them — demanded a new, more consolidated approach to connectivity and security.\n\nSpecifically, Anadolu Efes faced two distinct but related problems across their digital portfolio:\n- Maintaining applications in light of modern attacks\n- Reducing the complexity of legacy IT network infrastructure\n\n“Our network structure had become too complex to support the speed the business required,” explains Simge Güngör, Information Security & Operations Supervisor, Anadolu Efes. “When connectivity slowed, it directly affected sales operations and business continuity.”\n\nSome organizations might have resolved these problems in isolation. Anadolu Efes had higher ambitions. Over time, they consolidated web application security, workforce security, and cloud networking on Cloudflare’s connectivity cloud, a unified platform of security, connectivity, and developer services built on a single cloud network. This consolidated approach makes it easier for Anadolu Efes to manage security and connectivity across their entire digital portfolio.\n\n### Ensuring digital sales resiliency\n\nTo strengthen application security and resilience, Anadolu Efes placed its public-facing web applications behind Cloudflare Web Application Firewall (WAF) and DDoS Protection. This architecture now delivers over 100 applications to employees and partners across Turkey, Georgia, Moldova, and Kazakhstan, while transforming the onboarding process in countries like the Netherlands and Germany by reducing deployment times from days to mere minutes.\n\nA prime example of this agility is the seasonal warehouse in Izmir, which was integrated into the network without any hardware investment; by utilizing SIM-enabled handheld terminals equipped with the WARP agent and AD authentication, the team achieved full operational readiness instantly.\n\nThese services gave the security team deeper visibility and control over application-layer threats—something previously unavailable. “Cloudflare’s protection is at the highest level available in the market,” says Simge Güngör. “Attackers only see Cloudflare IPs. They cannot see our internal infrastructure, which limits what they can do.”\n\nToday, Cloudflare blocks approximately 1 million malicious requests per month, using the same global network and control plane that also powers Anadolu Efes’ user connectivity and Zero Trust access. “This has significantly improved our confidence in our overall security posture,” Simge Güngör adds.\n\n### From VPNs to Zero Trust: A centralised security and network hub\n\nNext, Anadolu Efes modernized its internal security and networking approach by replacing its traditional [virtual private network](https://www.cloudflare.com/learning/access-management/what-is-a-vpn/) (VPNs) with capabilities from Cloudflare One, a [secure access service edge (SASE)](https://www.cloudflare.com/learning/access-management/what-is-sase/) platform. In this way, Anadolu Efes extended Cloudflare’s protections from its public-facing web apps to its users and devices. \n\nPreviously, users relied on VPN connections that required frequent reauthentication, disconnected every 12 hours, and generated consistent complaints—especially from remote workers and third-party consultants. “With our VPN, users had to reconnect constantly. It slowed them down and created frustration,” Simge Güngör explains.\n\nInstead, Anadolu Efes onboarded Cloudflare’s [zero trust network access (ZTNA)](https://www.cloudflare.com/learning/access-management/what-is-ztna/) service, embracing a modern, cloud-native approach to authenticate users based on identity and context. The full migration from the VPN to Cloudflare was completed in 2025. For employees, the authentication experience is consistent across locations, whether they are working at home or in offices, cafés, factories, or hotels. Cloudflare’s device client automatically secures connectivity whenever an employee turns on a device without the manual steps required by the prior VPN. Meanwhile, contractors can access applications via a browser without installing the device client, which simplifies deployment for Anadolu Efes’ IT team.\n\nIn parallel, Anadolu Efes replaced its traditional MPLS with Cloudflare’s WAN-as-a-service, enabling Anadolu Efes to securely connect branches, warehouses, and offices over GRE and IPsec tunnels while centrally managing routing, security, and performance policies.\n“Cloudflare is now our network and security hub. Users are securely connected the moment they open their device — whether they’re in the office, at home, or in a café. Security follows them everywhere.”\n\nCloudflare has effectively become Anadolu Efes’ centralised network and security control plane, replacing fragmented regional solutions with a single platform for application security (WAF/DDoS), user access (Cloudflare One), and global connectivity.\n\n### Speed that directly impacts sales performance\n\nConnectivity speed was not just a technical issue but a business one for Anadolu Efes. Before Cloudflare, average latency across their workforce applications was 250 milliseconds. By routing traffic through Cloudflare global Anycast network and Magic WAN, latency dropped to 30–40 milliseconds. “This improvement is critical for our field-based sales teams, who rely on real-time access to data while visiting shops, restaurants, bars, and distributors throughout the day,” Simge Güngör explains. “Faster access means less waiting and more time engaging with customers.”\n\nBy accelerating access to reports, inventory data, and analytics, over a single, cloud-native connectivity and security layer, Cloudflare enables sales teams to move faster from location to location, answer questions on the spot, and make informed decisions in real time. The result is not only increased productivity and better user experience, but also a stronger professional presence in front of customers.\n\n### Rapid site onboarding and flexible expansion\n\nAnadolu Efes frequently needs to activate new locations—from temporary warehouses to small regional sales offices. Historically, bringing these sites online required leased lines, physical hardware, and coordination with multiple network providers, often taking weeks or even months. \n\nBy extending its Zero Trust architecture with Cloudflare Magic WAN, Anadolu Efes fundamentally changed this model. With Cloudflare Magic WAN, new locations can be brought online in hours or days, without MPLS links, point-to-point circuits, or on-site firewalls using the same Cloudflare platform already securing users and applications globally. Users connect securely over standard internet connections, including mobile networks, and gain immediate access to the applications they need.\n\n### What’s Next: Building a scalable foundation for future growth\n\nAs Anadolu Efes continues to expand its digital footprint and adopt cloud-based platforms such as SAP and Microsoft 365, the need for centralised security, consistent performance, and simplified management has become even more critical.\n\n“Cloudflare is becoming one of our strategic partners,” says Tahir Çelebi. “With Cloudflare at the centre of our network architecture, Anadolu Efes is establishing cloud-native connectivity foundation designed to scale users, applications, and security together as the business grows.”\nIn the near future, Anadolu Efes plans to:\n\n- Evaluate Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) models for mobile and field-based sales teams\n- Implement AI Security and AI Gateway solutions to manage shadow AI, scale operations, and ensure cost predictability\n- Deploy DLP (Data Loss Prevention) solutions to address increasing regulatory demands and expanding corporate liabilities\n- Broaden the AI Security scope by incorporating User-to-Machine (U2M) and Machine-to-Machine (M2M) interactions\n- Migrate the compute environment to Cloudflare Edge.\n\nThese initiatives will allow Anadolu Efes to expand into new markets, support a more mobile workforce, and adopt emerging technologies—including AI-driven sales and analytics—without increasing complexity or risk.\n\n“In today’s environment, speed and security must be addressed together,” Simge Güngör concludes. “With Cloudflare, we are building a scalable and resilient infrastructure that enables us to grow, adapt, and remain secure as the business evolves.”"],"testimonialQuote":[0,"Cloudflare is now our network and security hub. The Canadian company provides comprehensive tools for prescribing labs, creating treatment plans, and monitoring patient wellness journeys, serving millions of healthcare practitioners globally.\n\n### Challenge: Legacy complexity threatened rapid growth\n\nWhen Jeff Fouchard, now VP of Engineering, joined Fullscript, the company's rapid expansion were straining against a fragmented legacy infrastructure unable to support its ambitious growth plans.\n\nWith traffic doubling to the Fullscript web applications annually for five consecutive years, the company needed an infrastructure that could scale seamlessly to meet the explosive growth demands of the healthcare technology sector. Operating on legacy infrastructure, Fullscript had migrated core apps from a legacy orchestrator to Kubernetes but hit a wall with AWS’s first-generation web application firewall (WAF), which generated false positives and created multiple operational bottlenecks.\n\n\"The AWS WAF gave us almost no information when something went wrong. We'd have a blocked request and barely any data to figure out why it happened. Fullscript sought the Connectivity Cloud to enable them to:\n\n- Rehost application security and delivery infrastructure with Cloudflare while maintaining core Ruby on Rails application\n- Consolidate systems for unified modernization\n- Build Cloud-native experiences at the edge\n\nDiscovering Cloudflare's free tier, Fullscript quickly found the platform both richer in features and easier to use than AWS's native solutions. The company migrated critical security and delivery elements, automating configuration through Terraform to accelerate deployments and adoption, which eliminated the manual processes plaguing their previous setup. The transformation delivered an immediate 8x improvement in deployment efficiency, reducing security rule changes from more than four hours to under 30 seconds.\n\nA defining moment came during a major security crisis when malicious traffic overwhelmed their platform, incurring tens of thousands of dollars daily in infrastructure costs. Cloudflare's customer success team provided immediate beta access to their Security Analytics Dashboard, enabling rapid threat identification and mitigation.\n\n\"Within 15 minutes of using Cloudflare's security dashboard, we found exactly where the bad traffic was coming from, blocked it, and immediately fixed the problem — saving us from days of expensive downtime,\" explains Fouchard.\n\nThe rehost not only improved reliability and reduced manual work — it freed up Fullscript’s team to focus on more strategic initiatives.\n\nFollowing a standout support experience, the organization upgraded to Enterprise to unlock __proactive security and optimization tools__—including bot scanning and load balancing—further insulating their ecosystem from emerging threats.\n\n“With Cloudflare’s connectivity cloud, making security changes is now effortless — we don’t even think about it anymore. Our small team can handle much more complex infrastructure than we ever could with fragmented point solutions,” adds Fouchard.\n\nThis crisis response mitigated the financial impact and demonstrated Cloudflare's commitment to customer success beyond just providing technology, establishing trust that would drive expanded adoption across Fullscript's infrastructure.\n\n### Consolidating systems for unified modernization\n\nAdopting a “Cloudflare-first” approach for new infrastructure requirements, Fullscript began consolidating multiple point solutions to reduce vendor complexity and operational overhead. One of the first wins came from replacing an aging VPN with Cloudflare Zero Trust. The legacy VPN required frequent Friday night patches to address critical zero-day vulnerabilities and suffered from bandwidth limitations — especially challenging for decentralized and remote teams.\n\nThis consolidation strategy allowed Fullscript to eliminate the management burden of multiple disparate systems while gaining enhanced capabilities.\n\n\"The new remote access system is incredibly simple to set up and customize. For our employees, it's just a matter of clicking one button. The experience is so much better, and we can even reward people for following good security practices through integrated policy management,\" explains Fouchard.\n\nThis approach reduced vendor sprawl, cut support escalations, and simplified both security and remote access management, allowing Fullscript to centralize knowledge and accelerate ramp-up times for new projects. The deployment success also exceeded expectations:\n\n“We finished the rollout 30 days ahead of the projected 90-day window — a 33% schedule gain — and had very few problems along the way. Whenever we had questions, Cloudflare’s team gave us clear technical options and excellent implementation support,” says Fouchard.\n\n### Building cloud-native experiences at the edge\n\nWith core infrastructure successfully modernized and consolidated, Fullscript and Cloudflare began collaborating on cutting-edge applications that would define the future of their healthcare platform, moving beyond \"lifting\" existing apps to architecting entirely new capabilities using modern, cloud-native approaches.\n\nDuring an M&A integration, the company needed intelligent routing capabilities to seamlessly direct users between different platforms post-login, depending on their account. Instead of complex backend development requiring an estimated 3-6 months, they leveraged Cloudflare Workers to build serverless logic that operates at the network edge — delivering the solution in under 2 weeks.\n\n\"Workers allowed us to build smart authentication flows right at the network edge, which was much simpler than trying to connect everything on the backend. It allowed us to create entirely new user experiences while maintaining SOC 2 compliance and dramatically reducing audit friction,\" Jeff says.\n\n\"As our technology stack gets more complex, Cloudflare helps us grow without losing control or slowing down. We can deploy modern applications globally while maintaining the simplicity our generalist team needs,\" explains Jeff.\n\n### Results: A partnership that scales with success\n\nFullscript’s adoption of Cloudflare's Connectivity Cloud delivered transformative operational efficiency gains. Deployment agility improved dramatically, reducing workflow times from half a day to near-instant changes that boosted team productivity. The company also achieved 90–95% automation coverage across infrastructure changes through infrastructure-as-code workflows, while saving at least one full-time headcount by consolidating point solutions under Cloudflare.\n\n\"If we had to cobble together solutions from different vendors for all the different services Cloudflare provides us, we'd need to hire at least one more full-time person, maybe two. Having everything in one place means our team can easily manage it all, and learning new features is much simpler,\" states Fouchard.\n\nCloudflare’s unified platform helped Fullscript scale with rising demand, eliminating the need for frequent infrastructure interventions or team expansion. Security and performance analytics provided visibility across the stack, strengthening posture and optimizing user experience.\nMost importantly, the relationship evolved beyond vendor-customer. Cloudflare’s team operated as an extension of Fullscript’s engineering organization, offering guidance, support, and consistent partnership.\n\n\"Cloudflare has been amazing.
