GENERAL PUBLISHED REASONS (GPRS) FOR DECISIONS ON APPEALS – FISHERIES ALL










Fisheries appeal reasons generally explain how appeals were considered within the broader context of the MLRA and the specific fishing rights allocation process (FRAP), with key factors including achieving optimum utilisation and sustainable development of marine resources, promoting transformation and equitable access for new and existing participants, creating jobs, and protecting marine ecosystems and biodiversity. The general published reasons (GPRs) document the overall approach to appeals in a specific sector or fisheries, while individual appeal decisions provide specific reasons for each case.
