MTSAT-1R's operational observation is expected to resume within ten hours (by 1500 UTC on 17 April 2006)

The observing instruments of MTSAT-1R are being restored, after the recovery of attitude control from its failure occurred at 1557 UTC on 16 April.

JMA has confirmed the status of observing instruments of the satellite, and has started cooling of the imager to its prescribed temperature. At the moment, MTSAT-1R will resume normal service within ten hours, i.e. by 1500 UTC on 17 April 2006.
