I think dodo are pretty good value for money.

Twice in the last 12 months i've had to rely on tech support (first was when we changed our phone account with telstra to another name and there was a 1-2 delay in re-provisioning and secondly with the recent comindico migration to the telstra network).

Other then that I pay $99 a month to do whatever I want with the internet. Sure the tech help messaging system is a bit frustrating to have to wait for the call back but i've only had to use it twice and i've been with them for two and a half years now. Outside of the comindico problems over the last week and a half they've had pretty rock solid uptime.

Dodo probably isn't a ripoff given their plans are good prices. I'm thinking that seeing there are plnty of people who have no issues at all with Dodo, then they are good. If, however you happen to be one of the unlucky ones, you get stuck in a war of words with them trying to resolve issues. I'm trying to hang onto the belief that it will be sorted out as churing before the end of a contract is a last resort.

So, for the price of their plans, that's definitely not a rip off. You just have to hope you don't get any issues.

I to think dodo are pretty good value for money.
As long as you don,t have any issues. I'm churing to another isp after trying to have my Tech problem sorted over the last 5 months. I'm more disappointed than anything else as I had been with them for about 6 years with no problem until now. I just can hope that I have made the right move.

I've been happy with my Dodo connection (2 years), but I've also been lucky enough that I haven't had to use their customer support so I guess I haven't seen their dark side :)

Myself, I feel lucky to have recently escaped them.

Kind of had a relationship with dodo like a battered wife has with her husband.

I would avoid DoDo like the plague. Their CS make Telstra look good.

EXREAMELY BAD, those silly lot over there don't know what they are doing i'm sure cause i'm still waiting for them to return phone calls and e-mails, i've given up if they don't want my money thats fine with me.. they are hopeless....

Same here - I've been with dodo for three years both at home and where I work and I've been very happy, I've had to talk with tech support a few times, but other than sometimes having to deal with delays in being able to talk to someone, when i DID talk to someone the service was excellent - I'd recommend them (though you might want to wait till the comindico problems are sorted because it's VERY frustrating right now)

They're not perfect (current sitution an example) but no ISP is, and considering the very few problems I've had in the last 3 years - I doubt I'd have had such "luck" with any other ISP I have access to

They're frustrating to try and contact.
They can be difficult to get a straight answer out of.
Their support people will tell you things that are blatantly untrue.
They don't keep their customers informed of outages, maintenance and upgrades.

That said, they're the best ISP I've ever been with. All others have failed on at least the first 3 items above too.

Very few outages (apart from the current Comindico debacle)
Reasonable latency (good gaming !!)
Consistently good speed.
The plan I am on is good value (but no longer offered). Current plans are average.

- Dodo is GREAT value.. Well were when they had unlimited plans hehe

- Dodo hardly has any downtime at all exept last 2-3 weeks! Thats it !

- Wont lie about this. The Tech Support (email & phone) is like watching grass grow and getting nothing from it because they like to use excuses witch ALL customers will know about within 2 or so calls to them...

- Regular issues with internet is also a common thing (pages not loading etc etc)

- Uhh, thats all about I can say for now :)

There Are Ups and Downs !!

Their Service is very very very Bad!!!

I Was a customer of dodo's for nearly 5years "dial up"Broadband".

i recently had to contact telecommunication ombudsman in nsw, due to i wanted to close my e-mail hold service with dodo,aww crap what a run around i got.!!!

10 e-mails sent to them requesting closing of service.
phone calls with 20min+ on hold music.
Broken promises of refunds due to overcharging.

this went on for 2 months+

Anyone reading this:
SAVE YOURSELF THE EMOTIONAL TRAUMA AND FRUSTATION DO NOT USE DODO PTY LTDS SERVICES.

if anyone out there is having problems contact Ombudsman

you must try and resolve with dodo first,if that fails then use above services.
tio will give you a reference number after that you get a direct line to dodo conflict resolution team 1800 265 869 ..lol, they actually rang me which suprised me!

conclusion:
dodo was good at the start but moved it services overseas and now cant cope with it all,they are too big now and just raking in money at any means possible..they Will Rip You Off.

dodo E-mail services sends spam too at least 10 unwanted mail a day not even addressed to me. STUFF EM GLAD TO BE RID OF THEM..

This may be completely off topic - but why are so many of the "Oh my - Dodo are great" posters in this thread users with really low posting count?

Are there any serial WP posters who feel that Dodo is a worth while ISP with a good term of connection?
