Strategy and Deterrence Program



Assessing global shifts to contribute to the creation of a more advantageous security environment
















Since its establishment, the Sasakawa Peace Foundation has implemented and supported projects that contribute to world peace and security. The Strategy and Deterrence Program aims to identify changes in the international situation and conduct projects that contribute to the creation of a more advantageous security environment. Specifically, we collaborate with think tanks in countries around the world to conduct research on security issues concerning Japan, share the results of our analysis, and make policy recommendations. Research topics include U.S.-China relations, the situation in Europe and Russia, and international peace operations. Through these efforts we strive to play an active role in private-sector defense diplomacy (Track 2).
