Storm chances through the week will mainly be confined to Arizona high terrain. High temperatures will remain above normal resulting in widespread areas of major HeatRisk. However over the weekend, temperatures will warm to near record levels resulting in widespread major to extreme HeatRisk.

Extreme Heat Warnings are in effect through Monday with high temperatures ranging from just over 100 degrees in higher terrain up to 120 degrees in the hottest locations of SE California. The peak of this heat event should occur over the weekend before gradual cooling arrives next week.
