Multiple high-quality achievements in the meteorological industry have received national science and technology awards. Since 2000, a total of 16 meteorological scientific and technological achievements have received national level science and technology awards, and 8 have received international awards. Based on large-scale mobile observation platforms, multiple types of remote sensing platforms, and fixed observation station networks, collaborative observation scientific experiments have been carried out, which focus on the generation environment of typhoons, heavy rainfall, hail, tornadoes, and lightning, multi-scale, fine structure, and the generation mechanism of extreme weather events. Meanwhile, CMA strengthens the construction of meteorological observation platforms for coastal areas and deep sea in the Asia-India-Pacific region.
