Managed Systems

Managed Systems

The Managed Systems feature is a subscription service that allows multiple systems to be created and managed under a single master account. This facility gives the ability for users, such as system installers, to create and maintain systems on behalf of their customers.

An account with management access is able to perform the following tasks on the systems assigned to it -



View and edit the system configuration



Make donations towards the account



Join and leave teams



Update the account password



Generate or update the account API key

Manager Interface

The manager interface allows the management of all systems assigned to the manager account.

A link to the manager is provided on the subscription page.


System List

The Managed Systems list shows the list of all the systems currently assigned to this account. Various actions can be performed on each of the listed systems, detailed below.

To search for a system, enter the first few numbers of their System ID in the SID search box. This list will be updated to show matching IDs.



System Management

Accounts and systems created under the management systems facility are automatically assigned to management account.

To create a new account/system -



Login to the manager account



Goto the Managed Systems page



Click New Account on the top-right hand of the list



Enter the details for the new account and system




The new system will now appear on the Managed Systems list.


System Edit

To update the system settings, click on the system size link next to the system.



Manager Assignment

Existing systems currently not assigned to a management account can be also added to a management list.

To assign a system to a management account -



Login and open the System Editor



Goto the Advanced Settings section



Enter the username or email address of the management account in System Manager and click Allow



Confirm Yes to assign the system to the manager.




The system will now appear in the managers system list.

Ensure that the manager details are correct. Once assigned, the manager will have the ability to update the user password and API key.



System Ladder

On the managed system list, click on the total system size that appears in the title. This will display all the system managed by the account on a PV Ladder.




Account Management

The account manager has the ability to update the API key and account password of managed systems.

Other account settings must be changed by the system owner by logging into their user account.



Click on Generate to create a new API key for the system account. If an API already exists it will be overwritten.



Click on New Key to enter a new API. The key must be 40 characters in length and only contain the characters a-f and/or 0-9. This should only be used to revert the key back to a previously generated key.



Click on New Pass to create a new password for the account.



Click on the icon next the System Id to make a donation towards the user account. This will enable donation bonus features for all the systems belonging to that account.




The donation page will indiciate that the donation is being made on behalf of the account owner.




Add Account Service

The Add Account service allows an account to be created. This service is only available to Managed Systems subscribers.

Restrictions and Limitations



The email and login cannot already exist



The login and password must be at least 5 characters



The login and password cannot be longer than 30 characters



The login can only contain letters, numbers, dashes and underscores







Add System

The Add System service allows a system to be created for an account created by Add Account. This service is only available to Managed Systems subscribers.

Restrictions and Limitations



Systems can only be added to accounts created via Add Account API



Maximum of two systems created per account



The system name cannot already exist



The panel brand and inverter brand cannot be longer than 30 characters



The comments cannot be longer than 100 characters







Add Key Service

The Add Key service allows an API Key to be generated for an account created by Add Account. This service is only available to Managed Systems subscribers.
