Extended Data

Extended Data

The extended data feature allows up to 6 custom live data streams to be uploaded at 5 minute intervals.

Extended data values can be either whole or decimals numbers, negative values are allowed. The Add Status or Add Batch Status API support extended data uploads using parameters v7 to v12.


Configuration

Configuring the extended parameters will change how the data is displayed on the graph. To configure extended parameters -



Login and open the System Editor



Under the Extended Data section, configure the following settings for each parameter



Colour - Click on the coloured square to change the graph colour.



Graph Type - Click on the LINE link to switch between a line or area graph.



Label - The name of the parameter when shown on the graph.



Unit - The unit the extend data value is measured in.



Axis - 0 to 5, parameters placed on the same axis are shown on the same graph scale.



Summary - The extended parameter value to store as the end of day value, see below.



CR/DR - Calculate and store the daily cost (debit) or profit (credit) for this parameter, see below.






Click on to expand the settings section for the parameter



Low - The low boundary value for this parameter



High - The high boundary value for this parameter



Alert - The alert behaviour, see the Alerts section for further details.



Calculated as - The calculation behaviour for this parameter, see below.



Parent Aggregation - Aggregate the child data for this parameter, see Aggregation section.






Save system details





Standard Parameters

This option allows standards parameters (v1 - v6) to be shown on the extended data graph.

Click on to select standard parameters to overlay on the extended data graph.

Up to 4 standard parameters may be selected.



Axis Alignment

This option controls how the data range labels are shown on the left and right axes.



The left axis on the graph is axis 0



The right axis on the graph is axis 1




An extended parameter assigned to axis 0 will have its label name and data range displayed on the left hand side. An axis 1 assigned parameter will be shown on the right.

Click on to show the left and right alignment options.



None - Data label ranges shown on the axis is based on the minimum and maximum value of all parameters assigned to the axis.



Bottom - Use zero as the minimum value on the axis, i.e. at the bottom of the graph. Used for positive values only.



Middle - Use zero as the midpoint on the axis, the minimum and maximum is -/+ the absolute maximum known value. Used for positive and negative values.




When both axes are set to the same zero align option, the graph will align the 0 label on both sides.




Viewing Extended Data

Extended data is shown on a separate graph from standard live data.

To view Extended Data -



Configure one or more Extended Data parameters.



Upload data to the parameter.



Navigate to the system live page.



Switch to the Extended Data View.






Daily Summary

The summary function provides the ability to save an end of day value for the extended parameter, as per standard energy generation and consumption data.

The following summary options are available for each extended parameter -



None - No end of day is saved for the extended parameter.



Last - The last value of the day is stored.



Highest - The highest known value of the day.



Lowest - The lowest known value of the day, including negative.



Average - The average value of the day.



Change - The last value minus the first value of the day.



Sum - The sum of all values during the day.



W to kWh - Convert power W extended values to the daily energy kWh equivalent.




The Extended Data can be viewed on the system daily page via the Extended Data View.



Credits and Debits

The credit/debit function allows the parameter profit or cost to be calculated.

The following cr/dr options are available for each extended parameter -


None

No end credit or debit is saved for the extended parameter.



Debit

Positive value multiplied by the parameter’s debit tariff rate.



Negative value multiplied by the parameter’s credit tariff rate.



Credit

Positive value multiplied by the parameter’s credit tariff rate.



Negative value multiplied by the parameter’s debit tariff rate.





After assigning the parameter to a credit or debit type, save the system and enter the corresponding extended parameter credit/debit tariff rate on the Edit Tariff page.

All extended parameter v7-v12 debits and credits are summed and shown on the daily summary.

Note

A Daily Summary must be selected for the parameter to calculate a credit or debit.




Calculated Parameter

The values of an extended data parameter may be derived or calculated from another extended data parameter.

For example, the parameter v7 currently stores the amount of water usage at each 5 minute interval. Another parameter such as v9 can be used show the cumulative water usage throughout the day as recorded by v7.

The following calculation operations are currently available -



Uncumulate - Parameter values are cumulative. Reset first value of the day to 0. Equivalent to c1 cumulative flag in Add Status API.



Cumulative - Parameter values will display a running total of the source parameter.



Energy - Parameter values will display the energy (Wh) total of the source power (W) parameter.



Change - Parameter values will display the changes in value of the source parameter.



Power - Parameter values will display the power (W) of the source energy (Wh) parameter.





Note

Apart from Uncumulate, data should not be uploaded directly to a calculated parameter. Their values are recalculated each time new data is received for the source parameter.




Tariff Calc

This option controls the credit and debit calculation method for extended data parameter.



Default - The credit/debit will be calculated based on the Summary selected. See table below.



Every - The tariff is multiplied at every interval and summed.



Summary - The tariff is multiplied once by the summary value.



Power - The tariff is calculated at each interval as a power value.




The following table shows the resulting credit/debit amount for each tariff calc and summary selected.

Rules

The extended data rule can be used to modify the value of an extended data parameter. Only values v7 to v12 can be set in the rule.

To configure extended data rules -



Login and open the System Editor



Under the Extended Data section, enter the rule in Extended Data Rule





Input Data

The rule has access to the following variables which can be used as part of the rule logic -



v1 - energy generation



v2 - power generation



v3 - energy consumption



v4 - power consumption



v5 - temperature



v6 - voltage



v7 - the raw v7 value



v8 - the raw v8 value



v9 - the raw v9 value



v10 - the raw v10 value



v11 - the raw v11 value



v12 - the raw v12 value



hour - hour of the day (0-23)



minute - minute of the hour (0-59)




Separate multiple rule statements with a semi-colon (;)



Rule Tester

The rule tester will validate the specified rule and apply it to a set of predefined values. The data table shows a set of sample values and the corresponding output value after the rule is applied.


Note

The system configuration cannot be saved if the rule is invalid. The rule tester will report validation errors that needs to be corrected.

Increase v7 by 5%
